Hi!

I hope all of you had a great week - I finally managed to do something I wanted to do for a very long time... organizing my little private workspace... here is the result. Unfortunately I didn't take a "before" pic but where there are now shelves there was just a large wooden framed Verrall-print. Now I can find everything to be creative - I love it!!!

We've also renewed Moritz's room a little with lots of greens from IKEA - I'll show you later, ok?

So cold...

Hello!!!

As throughout July the weather was so hot, now, since we have August we are freezing... it feels and looks like late autumn here, the leaves are falling from the trees, we need to wear really warm clothes and some of us are already heating their houses!!!!

I can't believe this summer should be already over, so we have to wait what temperatures the next week will bring...

Fitting to the weather I did a layout with my favourite Halloween picture so far - Moritz was such a cute bat and as the US-UK tradition of "Trick or Treating" has come over to us, we more and more use to "celebrate" Halloween your way. (The one with the pumpkin-mask is Georg...)

Hello!!!

We have been to a corn-labyrinth last week which was so much fun! And there is wonderful summer event in our town - people are sitting around on bales of straw in the middle of a huge sunflower-field, roasting corn-cobs and listening to country bands - very romantic! Hello!

I am so sorry for not posting each day - having gone back to work hits me more than I have imagined, even if it is just part time. It means not having Moritz around, not knowing what he's doing half of his day, waking him up at six o'clock (when he is fast asleep),...

Because of the lack of time I do not have much time for my passions (photography, scrapping and blogging) - everything is not so easy, although my guys really support me a lot.

Back again!!!

Hello my beloved blog-readers!!!

So much happened the recent days... Moritz celebrated his 3rd birthday on June 23rd, the next day we started our vacation in Italy and now we are back - and I have SO many pictures to work with and SO much laundry to do and there was a harder storm while we were not at home and the garden looks disastrous - luckily our house is not demaged at all...

I had just the time to put some birthday pics together, but I promise there are more to come...

We finished Mo's ("Mo" recently has become Moritz's nickname - it is shorter and fits SO well...) treehouse just in time and decorated it with balloons - the house was his "biggest" present ever. We really had a big party with all the grandparents, aunts and uncles in our garden underneath a rain-safe tent... it was really hot the days before, but the rain came an hour before the party started. In the morning Mo had his "birthday table" (sort of a family tradition), then he went to his childrens' party at his childminder (she lives in the same street and is a good friend of mine). After his nappy, the guests arrived and it was a wonderful party - even the sun came out again!

(***edited: OMG - the picture looks as if Moritz had lost a tooth!!! He didn't and his teeth are quite well - believe me, the original picture looks MUCH better...)

Our trip to Italy was great - it was quite hot and we enjoyed Venice (which is just a five-hours-drive from where we live) and the beach a lot. I will post the pics later on, there hasn't even been the time to have a closer look at them...

A layout and some realistic stitching

Hi!

A layout!!! Having bought five (!!) kits at Scrapartist's sale today I had to do a layout with one of the Fathers Day pics. I SO love Nancie Rowe Janitz's designs and in SAs forum she once explained how she does her stitching - she uses a sewing-machine! As I do not have such a thing at home, I asked my mom to sew some messy black stitiching onto a white paper - so she did and I scanned them on 300 dpi and cleaned them up in PSE. For a better view I made a 100% close-up.

On dreams and colors...

My first day back in the "big world of employment" is done... it worked quite well, although it means standing up at 6 o'clock, bringing Moritz to his childminder at 7, starting to work at 8 ... but as I work part-time I come home at half past one, so I have enough time left for my family, for designing, for blogging, for gardening...

I took a photo of my sleeping "baby" yesterday and changed the color into soft sepia. Look at these longs lashes! (he definately does not have them from me...)

Strawberries and other goodies

Hi!

Sorry for not posting earlier but I will go back to work on Monday (I haven't been "working" since we've got Moritz, except my courses at university...) and so I had a lot of organizing to do... but here I am with some goodies!

A few days ago we've been at a strawberry-patch ... we both loved it but afterwards Moritz looked very much like a sweet berry himself. Because pics of me are quite rare, I "forced" my son to take a picture of his mommy - I think he really did a great job. Father's Day Pics

Hi!

We really had a great Father's Day - spending some calm time at a lake, being together all three which is quite rare in our family, so we enjoyed it really. Georg had to make so many night-shifts (he works as an emergency doctor) so we've hardly seen him lately... here are some pics taken on this little trip : ) (sorry, as usual, no pictures of the photographer...)

Crafting again!!!

Hello!

That was a weekend... we celebrated MILs birthday, built a tree-house for Moritz (well, not really ON a tree but surrounded by trees - thats why we call it treehouse), had a long brunch with good friends - really packed with a lot of joy!!!

Thanks so much for your brilliant explanation of Memorial Day, you did a great job on emproving my knowledge in history!

I NEED to tell you something really funny:

My mother is a real country-girl baking cakes and bread, planting vegetables, producing jam and juice for the hole family - she makes some great elderberry-sirup, which we drink throughout the year. Yesterday Moritz looked out of the car-window and shouted: "Mum, look - the elderberryjuice is blooming, I need to call granny!" :)

Hello!

I've been very busy today, doing one complete kit and ending up another one...

... if you are interested, here are the previews (my cherry kit is not yet ready).

I really like the quilt paper of my "Boy of mine"-Kit, here is a close-up:

"Soft Country" includes the papers I used for my blog-header, it is little shabby and great for romantic pictures.

It's been raining hard here for the last three days - perfect for designing... I now need to find a place to sell my stuff and don't yet know how to manage this... but I will see and'll let you know, when the time is ready :)

Hi!

Do you like fonts? I think a layout or picture works much better with the "right" font - there are THAT many offered, that you easily can lose track of it. I use "The Font Thing" - a small little freeware program for overlooking mine.

Um, I think, I have to tell you something...

...I am SO sorry! You might have realized, that English is not my mother-language: what I called foil (german: Folie) by mistake - is called transparency in English - after a long, long search I found the wrapping of my so called foils and it said "Laser Transparency Film"!!!

-> That is what I used to make my frames!!!

My translation-mistake caused many confusions and I apologize.

Romantic Mood...

Thanks for all your wonderful comments - it's just great that you like my work!

I guess I will anwer your questions on the frames first:

FOIL: I don't use aluminium foil - I use a plastic foil (the kind of foil you use for overhead-projectors, but the ink MUST NOT stay on it - so be careful, don't touch the inked side, when the foil comes out of the printer!!!)

PRINTER: I use a simple inkjet printer, paperformat 8,5 x 11 in., asked for the feed, I click "paper"

LINKS: Not all pieces of the Corkboard-Kit are yet posted (e.g. the gold rivet and the stitching as one of you asked - I'm sorry for the "one-of-you", but you didn't tell me your name) - there are much more to come...

My dearest Blog-readers!!!

A few days ago I did some funny crafting on frames (and other things) - I really like the outcome - wanna have a look?

Here are the instructions, if you'd like to give it a try:

1. Design your layout on the computer (mirror-inverted!)
2. Print it on some foil BUT the ink must not cling to the foil
3. Press the foil (with the inked side down) onto a wooden, untreated frame
4. Rub it on with a soft rag
5. Let it dry

Hi!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day with man-made breakfast, self-drawn card, flowers and gifts, the family all around and really nothing to do, except relaxing...

Quick "how-to-do"!

Good Morning!

Today I will show you an easter-pic which I like a lot and that actually fills my PC-background. It shows Moritz on his easter-egg-hunt in our garden.

If you want to know how this black/color foto is done here is a quick tutorial (I use PSE4):

1. Open your foto
2. Set the saturation to -100
3. Erase everything you want to see in color
4. Merge the visible layers
5. Save

It's quite easy and looks that great...

Looking out of the window I see the cherry trees blooming, my little one walks in the grass - barefoot, we've already started theBBQ-season, can't tell how much I missed all this during the long and cold winter...

It works!!

I can't believe - it works!!! It took me HOURS to run the header - but it's REALLY visible now! Well, quite short: I have been a paper-scrapper since last summer but in winter I discovered digi-scrappin and since I own PSE4 (April this year) I hardly can leave my computer alone :)

I love taking pictures, but even more I love to work with them. And - I do a little designing myself.

This is me with our little one, Moritz who will be three in June.
